Icelandic Tourist Board
The Icelandic Tourist Board is a non-profit organization that promotes Iceland as a choice destination for travellers from all over the world. The Iceland Tourist Board operates in a supervisory role, providing licenses to all legitimate travel and tourism companies in Iceland.
Icelandic Travel Industry Association
Acting as mutual venue of Icelandic companies operating in the field of travel and tourism the Icelandic Travel Industry Association (SAF) endeavours to advance quality, safety and professionalism among its membership. It aims to inform its membership about consumer laws and insurance regulations in all the markets from which travellers to Iceland originate.
Run by the Icelandic Tourist Board which has led the project in close cooperation with The Icelandic Travel Industry Association, Innovation Centre Iceland and the Icelandic Tourism Association. The aim of VAKINN is to strengthen quality and safety within the Icelandic tourist industry through guidance and support and, in addition, build up the social responsibility of tourist service providers.
Cruise Iceland was established in 2004 to combine the resources of all those involved in receiving cruise ships to help promote the island as an exciting destination. Today 26 companies are members of Cruise Iceland including thirteen ports providing easy access to every area of the country.
